VSEP Landfill leachate

Written on February 3, 2015

Landfills are used to contain and manage waste products and prevent them from harming the environment.  Modern day landfills are used as storage sites where the waste products are dumped and sealed to stop the spread of pollutants and harmful pathogens. Continue reading “VSEP Landfill leachate” »

VSEP Case Study – El Presidente, Colombia

Written on February 3, 2015

The city of Buga in Columbia was quickly outgrowing the area used for landfill.  In fact the projection estimated it would reach its capacity within four months.  The regulators told the Buga Landfill that prior to opening another site they needed to be able to provide a method of dealing with the leachate produced from the waste. How VSEP Works

Written on February 2, 2015

In the crudest sense Vibratory Shear Enhanced Processing (VSEP) takes the untreated feed water and separates it into clean water (also called permeate or filtrate) and dirty water (also called reject or concentrate), all without any chemical additives or pretreatment. VSEP Case Study – El Bordo Poniente, Mexico City

Written on February 2, 2015

Landfill Mexico CityOnce Mexico City’s only solid waste landfill, it is now closed to allow landfills to be opened further away from the residents of the city.  However, the landfill was used to support a 9 million person population and so is still producing leachate wastewater and will continue to do so for some time. A comparison of Permeate and Concentrate from VSEP System

Written on February 1, 2015

The following video clearly illustrates the incredible water leaning power of a VSEP system.  In the video we see a stream of clean permeate on the left and on the right we can see the concentrate or reject water. Continue reading “A comparison of Permeate and Concentrate from VSEP System” »

Landfill Leachate Treatment

Written on February 1, 2015

Leachate is the product of a fluid percolating through a solid and “leaching” out constituents from the solid.  It poses a problem in waste management where groundwater passing through landfill becomes contaminated. Continue reading “Landfill Leachate Treatment” »

VSEP Contract

Written on January 13, 2015

Here at Syngineering we have been granted a new contract working with American water treatment giants New Logic Research Inc. as the national distributor in Australia for their new product VSEP (Vibratory Shear Enhanced Process). VSEP is the world’s first vibrating membrane separation system. Its done by applying vibratory shear waves directly at the membrane surface. VSEP is able to separate difficult feed streams including high levels of suspended and dissolved solids, oils, organics and other problematic constituents. The process is inexpensive and capable of:

  • Processing thousands of litres per minute
  • Has the ability to stay cleaner for longer
  • Can process constituents with a large solid percentage (~70%)
  • Has a high efficiency (~99%)
  • Simple design (two main parts), and
  • Compact in size.

Access Stairway Design for Heavy Machinery

Written on December 18, 2014

One of the latest jobs completed by Syngineering saw us working alongside Access Innovations doing design work on a new access stairway for  mining dump trucks. We went above and beyond the necessary duties required and pride ourselves on the quality of our designs, having conducted 3D preliminary design renders for the client to show them that we are committed.

The job was completed on time and within budget, designed in house by our team of qualified engineers and was RPEQ certified by Syngineering. RPEQ certification takes the headaches out of your life, especially if the site’s foreman asks for the documentation stating that your plant has certification.

Here at Syngineering, we conduct all our designs for access stairways using the AS 1657-2013 standard, and place our certification tag on the design to assure you that the product we design passes all standards, and is safe.

Below are two images of the access stairway illustrating the final product (left) and its engineering certification (right).

Are you ready for AS1657-2013?

Written on June 4, 2014

As you may know, there has been a revision on AS1657, bringing it to AS1657-2013. There are an extensive list of updates to AS1657-2013, and Syngineering is ready to help you through the process of getting your walkway, stairway or ladder designed, constructed and installed.

Fixed Ladder design has been updated, which will result in improved safety for users in terms of rung spacing, strength of the ladder and improved supports, among many other changes. Labels are now also mandatory, which requires indentification of the designer, fabricator, installer and certifier.

If you have any concerns of designs you’re working on now, or walkways, stairways or ladders that you have in the pipeline, call Syngineering. We’ll make sure everything is OK on your design, then certify it for you with our RPEQ capabilities.

Engineering in Japan

Written on January 14, 2014

One of our engineers, Ben Ramsay, recently spent some time in Japan…

“I noticed how well EVERYTHING worked while I was there. How the entire country was such a complex system of interconnecting trains, planes, buses, cars and people. But during my stay there, I noticed that however complex, it was never complicated.

Shinkansen

The Japanese bullet trains – Shinkansen, are complex but elegant solutions increasing the mobility of Japanese people.

Everything from train timetables, down to locks on doors worked properly, and were not complicated. It is this philosphy that made me want to get back to work with Syngineering. I realised that the designs, concepts, drawings and ideas that Syngineering propose or submit to clients are sometimes complex, but never complicated. Our simple and cost effective designs provide ingenious solutions to problems that our clients have, and we take pride in our ability to produce our products.”

Email us, call us or drop in to see how we can offer effective solutions to your problem.

Syngineering and EJ Work Together

Written on December 12, 2013

Syngineering and EJ have a great relationship, which enables both companies to collaborate to find solutions to a variety of different problems.

EJ required a lifting beam that could lift product from one stack to the next. The requirement of this job necessitated the design of a special lug which could rotate around the lifting beam, and lock into place by rotating the lug and locating it in a keyway along the length of the lifting beam.

Syngineering helps design and draw a Separator & Skid

Written on November 18, 2013

Syngineering worked with a major client to design and update a separator design, so that it could be easily transported to sites around Australia. The piping, instrumentation and layout of the device was reviewed and updated by Syngineering’s team.

This Separator design gave Syngineering the chance to prove our design capabilities and flexibility when working with a major client. If you think your designs need to be reviewed to make sure it is as optimal as possible, give Syngineering a call, and we can work with you to give you a product that is perfect for the application
